My puppy looks like he has broken blood vessels in his eyes. Is this normal? plz read details?

I took my puppy to the groomer for the first time today. He just started getting comfortable with me bathing him. So im sure it was hard for him with someone he did not even know. The groomer said he was upset and that he screamed and cried for most of the time. When i got there to pick him up he seemed a little shook up. Which is completly understandable. But when we got home and i really got to take a good look at him... i noticed that both of his eyes are blood red in one area where it would usually be white. Is this caused from stress from crying? Should i be worried? Will this clear up like if a human were to have a broken blood vessel. They did alot of things on him for his first visit. He had long hair and she gave him a teddy bear cut. He is very small 6 lbs. And he is 3.5 months old

It is not uncommon for small vessels to bust in they due to excessive crying. If he was really screaming that loudly, I'm sure he was putting an increase in pressure on the circulatory system in his face. (Just like when a baby cries and their face turns red?)- It should heal in a few days.

I wouldl take this puppy right to the vet, and have them take a look. I have my suspicions... and he could have injuries you cannot see.

Please, please, take him to the clinic right away, and have him checked out.

Call te groomer and tell them what happened and tell them you plan to see a vet. This was caused by trauma. Shih tzus are one of the hardest babies to groom as they do not want their faces touched. Your puppy will be okay, just not right away. Find out exactly what happened. Does this groomer work alone? When we have one that fights that hard, we stop, call the owner and ask they come to help and make the puppy feel secure. This puppy should have been rested and not allowed to fight. Best wishes.

I WOULD TAKE HIM TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY. THE GROOMER COULD HAVE POKED HIM IN THE EYE. (NOT ON PURPOSE OF COURSE). PLEASE HAVE HIM VET CHECKED IN CASE HE NEEDS TREATMENT TO SAVE HIS SIGHT.

it is not "normal" persay but if it was stressful for your pup then the bloodshot eyes is because he was stressed out if you leave him to call down and comfort him he should be ok. if the blood shot doesnt go away in a few hours then he might have accidentaly got some soap in his eyes especialy if he was upset while in the bath. try some water drops (donot use human eyedrops they were not made for animals) or take him to the vet and get perscribed doggie eye drops

PS do not take him to anywhere like petsmart or any other genaric grooming area, that is not there specialty that is an added feature. take him to a professional groomer that can properly care for him.

His eyes are under pressure from all the screaming and panic most likely but its best to go to the vet just incase, don't worry though.

doubt the groomer cause problems--please take to vet worth the few dollars to have it checked out-so many things could be from nothing to infection to raised pressure
