Any cat vets out there?

my cat has been an indoor cat for all her life 5 human years. and we have made her now an outdoor cat and dont let her in the house at all because she all of a sudden started peeing everywere. well she use to be so soft but now all of a sudden from her head she has started to lose alot of hair and and her fur is not soft anymore. also just today i noticed that in her neck she has a little bold spot. i dont know if this has to do with the whole change of indoor outdoor change or if it is something more sevire. also i have another cat "older" and this is not happening to her. what could it be? any advise?

Ana, there could be a couple different reasons for the changes in your cat. First and foremost, the reason your cat has been inappropriately urinating in the house could be due to a bladder infection. A bladder infection is one of the main causes of inappropriate urination, especially in older cats. Secondly, the changing of your cat from an indoor cat to an outdoor cat could lead ot the coat change. Outdoor cats have much thicker coats, and some can even become coarse when left outside. As far as the bald spot, it could be anything from a battle scar from a cat fight, to an abcess, to parasites (which if not treated can kill a cat). My suggestion, of course, is to take your cat to the vet. (A general dewormer would probably help your cats coat condition) If she did have a bladder infection, it needs to be treated or it could lead to kidney failure which is fatal. For an exam, urinalysis and antibiotics, you're looking at something around $50. The little bit of money would be well worth it in the end! Good luck!

Please bring your cat to a vet. Sometimes a traumatic event can cause the cat to lose hair. She may be feeling rejected when all she had was a kidney stone or something that caused her to pee uncontrollably. There is usually a reason why a 5 year old cat all of a sudden starts to pee everywhere, ad it isn't old age and it can probably be fixed with some meds. PLEASE don't be ignorant, get the poor kitty some professional help!

I think it should be obvious that there is something medically wrong with this cat, and the right thing to do is to take it to a vet, not toss it outside because it is peeing in the house.

You know, I normally don't comment on these type of posts but what kind of person are you? Why did you get the cat in the first place if you are unwilling to take care of it or even bother to find out what is wrong before kicking her out. It's a life with feelings dammit

Since you value your carpet above a life I truly hope that you don't get any more animals

There is a medical reason your cat started peeing all over the place take it to a VET and find out why..About the hair its probably stressed out because you threw it out.

It is dangerous and illegal for a vet to diagnose an animal over the internet. You need to bring the cat to the vets to get looked at.
